As early as 1810, this cotton fabric came from Tahiti and left its impressions on many artists and traveled royalty. French painter Paul Gaugin painted many of his primitive lifestyle pieces with women draped in the bold and colorful pareos. Today the pareo print is an icon, made all the more famous by the success of Kahala's print.
